Pere al gorgonzola al forno con frutta secca e miele

Baked pears with gorgonzola Dop with dried fruit and honey. This recipe could be an appetizer but also a dessert. Or just a good thing to eat when you feel like it, accompanied by one or two slices of homemade bread. The recipe is baked pears with gorgonzola is very simple and quick to prepare, as you can see in the video recipe on my YouTube channel (Sign up and turn on notifications to stay up to date, it's free).

On the other hand, The combination of pears and cheese, and specifically pears and gorgonzola, is now famous for its goodness. You have already tried the Spelled tart with pears, nuts and gorgonzola Dop or the cream puffs with sweet gorgonzola Dop with pears and raisin? Or homemade ravioli with liquid heart with gorgonzola PDO and pears? And the risotto with pears, gorgonzola Dop, pistachio and honey? Save all the recipes because it's really worth it.

I suggest you to use rather soft and ripe pears, since the baking in the oven is short. As for the choice of gorgonzola, It depends on your taste: I used a spicy gorgonzola Dop, but you can also use the sweet one, that gives you the opportunity to put more. Or a mixture of the two types, for a balanced but intense taste together. With regard to the dried fruit, Use it in quantity according to your preferences: pistachios, nuts, almonds, hazelnuts but also cashews, noci pecan, Macadamia nuts or natural peanuts. I also add dried figs in small pieces.

Some advice also on honey: if you want to serve these pears as an appetizer, you can use a chestnut honey, which has a slightly bitter aftertaste. If you love sweeter tastes, a orange blossom honey, Di sulla or even a simple millefiori are the right choice. You can serve these pears baked with a raisin wine, that will enhance the sweet part of the dish. Is, About dessert, have a look to all my sweets with pears. Have a good day!

Baked gorgonzola pears with dried fruit and honey

The recipe for baked gorgonzola pears is very simple, as you can see in the video recipe on my YouTube channel. Wash the pears and cut them in half lengthwise. To make sure that they remain balanced on the baking sheet, Remove a slice of pear as you see in the video recipe.

Chop the dried fruit and chop the dried figs into small pieces. You can also use other dehydrated fruits such as apricots or raisins. I remind you that all dried fruit, figs included, before being used it must be kept in hot water for at least 30 minutes, so that it becomes soft and pulpy again.

Create a cavity in the center of the pear, removing the seeds and using a teaspoon to remove some pulp, in order to make room for the filling. Distribute a little gorgonzola inside the pear, figs and dried fruit. The filling must be abundant, also because the cheese melts during cooking and its volume is reduced.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and, once hot, Cook the pears for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle abundantly with honey you have chosen. Serve immediately. Bon appétit!
