Sicilian, I've lived in Rome since 2007. And before I lived for seven years in Milan. I'm a professional journalist, head of the agri-food sector of the national news agency Askanews. My great passion is cooking: I have always cooked, Since I was little. I watched her grandmother and mom in the kitchen, as they tried to keep me good by giving me a little’ of water and flour for kneading. But since I moved to Rome that the fun in ' spignattare’ It became an obsession. I started studying, to buy cookbooks and culinary techniques, to experience. So, in December 2013, I decided to put some order in my recipes and those of my family tradition and I created this blog.
I decided to add to the traditional recipes those of my mind, to make these virtual pages a kind of evolving Cookbook. No talking, just recipes, video version (I found on my You Tube Channel). I am constantly looking for exceptional raw, of those foods and wines that make the made in Italy food the best in the world, the most wanted and most envied. Thanks to my work I know well the Italian agri-food landscape. And I would like to be able to accompany each of you on this wonderful journey around the beautiful and good food that is Italy.
In each recipe you will find pairings with wine or other drinks taken care of by my partner, Gianluca Atzeni, food and wine journalist and professional in the sector. In addition to the recipes you will find reviews of restaurants and pizzerias where we have always personally paid the bill. Finally, you will find in-depth articles on made in Italy agrifood: companies, territories and travel routes through Italy. Taste the most important products in the territory, looking at churches, monuments, visiting museums, drinking a glass of wine on a journey that you can redo when you want following our tips. You can also find a video section on small Italian agri-food productions and on some dishes that are the symbol of Italian cuisine, prepared by industry players.
Gianluca Atzeni is Sardinian of origin but Sicilian by adoption. Since 2001 he has been a frequent visitor to Trinacria, who knows better than many Sicilians. Perhaps the extreme diversity between the two islands has attracted him so much that he now considers it his second home. Professional journalist, he has worked for Gambero Rosso since 2010, where he deals with wine and agri-food economics and made in Italy. Professionally he grew up in Milan, where he studied and specialized in journalism.. His contribution to creative Sicilians began in 2013 and he immediately focused on photographs and videos about food and travel, but his curiosity about the new prompted him to delve into the theme of white art (Bakery, pizza and doughs). Careful observer and the universe of Italian catering, is always looking for the perfect recipe, both in haute cuisine and in the great classics of the Italian tradition.
