Sforno, in Rome

It was so long that I wanted to eat pizza by Sforno, plurirecensita pizzeria romana in Cinecittà in Rome area. The expectations were very high. The pizzeria is in major field guides with the highest scores, but once you try I can say that my judgment is quite critical. We start from the local, so basic to the point of being bare, bare walls, neon lights and dust the edges of panelling at the height of the tables. Positive note definitely on forpersonnel: attentive, prompt and considerate. As appetizers we ordered three rice balls (between 3,5 and 4,5 euros each) and a potato croquette (2,5 euros) the ' nduja. Great cake with a crumbly Breading, and a stuffing from rich taste, soft and not greasy. As for the rice balls, very good the Breading, crisp and dry, but unfortunately just as dry the filling, especially in supplì alla amatriciana and gricia. A little’ the best rice balls with Artichoke and gorgonzola.

We come to the pizzas: We ordered a Greenwich, specialty of the House at a cost of 12 euros with mozzarella, Stilton and port wine reduction, and a Sicilian pizza (9,5 euros) with tomato, cherry tomatoes, olives, Capers, anchovies, artichokes that I asked to add the mozzarella di bufala. The pizza is a Neapolitan school big and soft border dotted with a series of bubbles, many of which unfortunately very burned. Rather blackened even the bottom of the pizza, index of an oven to be cleaned more often. The dough, overall, was little Saber, discharge of salt, too soft, at times not well leavened, especially in larger parts of the border. Pizza, that came to the table hot and fragrant, After a few minutes took a chewy texture with the dough too soft and wet. Very good, instead, the quality of the raw materials used: very good black olives, the anchovies, filling and tasty mozzarella and with great quality Stilton.

Above-average prices on fried foods and pizzas, as well as the high mark-ups on craft beers. Total expenditure 48,5 euros for a croquette, three rice balls, two pizzas, two draft beers from 5 euros each. And the pizza I've digested well. Postponed until September.
