Cold tomatoes stuffed with tuna and potatoes

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 8 round salad tomatoes, not too ripe

Boil the potatoes, depriving them of peel and let cool completely. Meanwhile, wash the tomatoes, remove the cap top and emptied of seeds and vegetation water. Salt them lightly inside.

Cut the potatoes into cubes rather small and put them in a bowl. Add the well-drained tuna, gherkins sliced, Capers (set aside some’ all the ingredients for the dish seal). Add salt and pepper and then mix with mayonnaise. Normally I put a 250 gram jar but if you want to save calories, as well as use a light mayonnaise, you can 'stop’ when the mixture is well blended.

Fill the tomatoes with the mixture of tuna and potatoes, so that it comes a little over the edge and garnish it all with a few slices of cucumber, some caper, a piece of tuna and a basil leaf. Let rest tomatoes in the refrigerator for at least an hour, making sure to pull out a quarter of an hour before serving so that the flavors can blend perfectly.

THE PAIRING: This is a plate with a strong acidic tendency due to the presence of the raw tomato and mayonnaise. Rather than a wine, We suggest a beer, provided it is light. And we choose Chiara micro brewery Hops, pils produced in Romagna, Riccione, Low fermentation and of delicate flavors.
