Plumcake with chocolate chips

Plumcake with chocolate chips. A tasty and fragrant idea for breakfast, with grated orange zest and Cointreau. I like very much the combination Orange-dark chocolate and use it often, in both sweet and savory in. The mild sweet perfume and Cointreau gives this taste a little’ more adult and less cloying than the usual pound cake. Obviously, if you prepare this dessert for your kids, forget the liquor and put some’ vanilla or just leave the scent of orange and chocolate.

Alternatively, you can use a doughnut mold and glaze the sweet, For example,, with chocolate. Or, you can use a normal cake tin, cut the cake in half and stuff it with orange jam, to enrich your breakfast taste. The trick to not getting chocolate chips to the bottom? It's so easy... Just pass them lightly into the flour and mix as little as possible, just two quick turns of spoon. When it starts getting cold I love waking up with the idea to turn the oven, prepare a simple cake, like this plum cake with chocolate chips, and have all day the House that smells good. If you like simple and good cakes, have a look at VIDEO RECEIVED OF THE RICOTTA AND LIMONE CIAMBELLONE on my YouTube channel.

As a variation, you can add to the’dough for the plumcake dried fruits such as nuts or hazelnuts, or dehydrated fruit such as currors or blueberries. To find new ideas take a look at all my PLUMCAKE OF RECIPES. Have a good day!

Add one egg yolk at a time, and continue to mount, then add the sifted flour with the baking powder, the milk, the Cointreau and orange zest.

Whisk the egg whites and add to the mixture slowly. Use a spatula, to incorporate the air and do not disassemble the egg whites. Add, Finally, dough for the plum cake with chocolate chips and Cointreau, the dark chocolate drops.

Grease and flour the Loaf pan (if you want you can also use a mold for donut or a regular cake pan, will be fine too). Pour the mixture and put it in a preheated oven. Cook for 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and not up to that on the surface it will form a small crack. You can also do a test with toothpick, Threading it through the center of the Loaf pan: will have to get dry.

Remove from the oven the plum cake with chocolate chips and Cointreau and put it to cool on a wire rack. If you like, sprinkle on the cake with icing sugar. Bon appétit!
