Wholemeal Muffins to marron glacé

Today's recipe is very sweet: integrals muffins marron glacés. I confess I have a passioncella for marron glacé ever since I was a child. Obviously, Since I'm a caloric bomb of massive proportions, I avoid them. Once in a while, in winter, When they look at me from the Windows of bakeries, give them to me and, Since I was treated to a marron Glace Pack into pieces (are the ones that break and selling sold more cheaply), I decided to use them to make delicious winter sweets: Here's my muffins integrals with marron glacé, made with whole wheat flour, dark brown sugar and decorated with whipped cream. They're delicious even the following day and remain soft.

Serves about 10 regular size muffins:

  • 150 grams of flour 00
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of dark brown sugar
  • 50 grams of butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 200 ml whole milk
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 100 grams of chopped marron glacé
  • muscovado enough to sprinkle cupcakes
  • 150 ml of whipping cream
  • just enough sugar to sweeten the cream
  • Marron glacé and sugar decorations as required for decoration

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees static. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. When the butter you will be warmed, Mount with whips in a bowl the eggs with the butter, vanilla extract and milk. In another bowl, put the two types of flour, sugar, the yeast, the salt and the marron glacé.

When the egg mixture, butter and milk will be homogeneous (obviously will be liquid), merge the contents of the second Bowl and mix with a wooden spoon: careful not to mix long, otherwise the candy will be hard, you just have to mix the liquid ingredients with dry beans.

Pour the batter into muffin cups filling them up to two thirds of height, Sprinkle with muscovado sugar and bake for 20-25 minutes. While the cakes are cooking, whip the cream until stiff with sugar (you decide the amount depending on how much you want it sweet). Once the muffins will be warm, decorate them with whipped cream, a piece of marron glacé and some scoop of sugar and serve.
