The Colonel's Inn (Modica)

If you are passing in the beautiful upper Modica, I leave you a good address for lunch: The Colonel's Inn, Palazzo Failla hotel. Traditional Sicilian cuisine beautifully presented and served in an environment of yesteryear. In the kitchen the chef Francesco Mineo, aided by a very young and prepared. The menu changes constantly, Depending on the seasons and of what the market offers.

Simple and good pasta dishes: I tried convincing the spaghetti with anchovies and Marjoram and noodles with artichokes. Compared to the first dishes, I found most interesting the seconds, and especially the long wing, cooked to perfection (that is just seared) cream of fennel, oranges and cipollitti and the fillet of pork with chicory and mashed potatoes, still pink at the heart. Something to betterimprove in the starters, where the Octopus with Escarole, raisins and Panella tip lacked just a accompanying sauce. More convincing fried pumpkin fondue Ragusano and smoked onion.
